(in)exorable, Microscopic Video, 1:12, 2019
(in)exorable is inspired by the willow tree, which I see as a metaphor for the strength of my father. Even though there are many obstacles thrown his way, he is still able to continue on. Microscopic videos of cancer cells multiplying are projected onto the willow, attempting to overtake it, but the tree still stands strong throughout.
(in)exorable at Digital Graffiti Festival, Alys Beach, FL 2021
(in)exorable is inspired by the tree in nature, which I see as a metaphor for the strength of my father. My father was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2018 and eventually passed June 2020. Even though there were many obstacles thrown his way, he was still able to continue and remain strong until the end. Microscopic videos of cancer cells multiplying and dividing are projected onto the tree, attempting to overtake it, but the tree still stands strong throughout. Swirling organisms of fluid reminiscent of the liquid light shows my father and I created in our basement when I was a child, mix with the cells, demonstrating the memories we share, which is something his illness will never be able to claim.
