During a recent visit to my family’s now-vacant farm, grape leaves covered the front porch and entrance. These grape leaves were previously used by my Yaya (grand- mother) to make her famous dolmas that she would roll from scratch after collecting the leaves from the farm. They also produced the grapes that my Papou (grandfather) used to make his infamous and terribly sweet wine. I used grape leaves for this series of chlorophyll prints, replicating archival family photos of the farm, the home- town Spilia in Greece, and relatives spanning multiple generations. The leaf prints are scanned to preserve the fragile image and then printed as giclée prints. This process invites reflection on the impermanence of the leaf and memory.
