Drip reflects on the disorienting and repetitive nature of the chemotherapy treatment regimen. By distorting and replicating footage of my father’s chemo drip, I aim to put the viewer in this same disorienting headspace in order to create empathy. The audio is a recording of his hospital room that has also been manipulated to reflect on this environment and process. The video is then projected onto an array of tubing and drip bags that are what help to keep him alive, but at what physical cost? My goal is to let the viewer into the world of someone going through treatment, which is a painful, confusing and repetitive procedure.
