Reclaim features four hanging fabric sculptures suspended by small hooks and red thread. For Luci, body suspension is a way to reclaim her medical trauma. The multiple needles that have pierced her skin, the masked doctors that have confronted her, and the numerous wires that have been connected to her body are replicated in a space where she has control and can reclaim these experiences. There is an emotional release during this, and the sculpture reflects this release through the flowing forms within nature and by utilizing gravity to create their graceful shapes. The hooks are delicate and placed with care and the red thread serves as a line of connection, bonding her with the outside world.
