BioRoof Study
This site-specific video installation created for The Mill in Bloomington’s Trades District, highlights Bloomington’s first green roof at The Forge. A green roof, also known as a living roof, is a rooftop partially or completely covered with vegetation, soil, and a growing medium, designed to promote biodiversity, manage stormwater, and enhance urban aesthetics. To create this video, I sampled each accessible plant variety growing on the green roof and then documented each species with video microscopy. This video installation amplifies The Forge’s commitment to sustainability and encourages local businesses and developers to consider eco-friendly practices.
